Who we are and how to contact us

Our platform is an online learning management system (LMS) operated by Alef Education Consultancy LLC - OPC ("We", "our" or "us"). We are a limited liability company registered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates under commercial license number CN-2209313 and our principal business office address is at Building 2, Al Muntazah, Abu Dhabi, PO Box 789719.

By accessing or using Alef Academy, you confirm your acceptance of and agree to comply with these terms of use. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use our platform or services.

Intellectual Property

All materials on Alef Academy, including but not limited to course content, videos, text, graphics, and software, are our intellectual property. Unauthorized use of any material is strictly prohibited.

Managing your user accounts

To access most activities on Alef Academy, including learning, interacting, and downloading materials, users must create an account. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and are prohibited from sharing these credentials with others. Any activity conducted through your account is your responsibility.

We are not responsible for websites we link to

Where Alef Academy contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or the information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.

User-generated content is not approved by us

This website may include information and materials uploaded by other users of the site, including but not limited to bulletin boards and chat rooms. This information and these materials have not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users on Alef Academy do not represent our views or values.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

Whether you are a consumer or a business user:

  • We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.
  • Different limitations and exclusions of liability will apply to liability arising as a result of the supply of any products to you, which will be set out in our local terms and conditions available here.

If you are a business user:

  • We exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to Alef Academy or any content on it.
  • We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
    • use of, or inability to use, Alef Academy; or
    • use of or reliance on any content displayed on Alef Academy.
  • In particular, we will not be liable for:
    • loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;
    • business interruption;
    • loss of anticipated savings;
    • loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or
    • any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

If you are a consumer user:

  • Please note that we only provide Alef Academy for domestic and private use. You agree not to use Alef Academy for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
  • If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage that you could have avoided by following our advice to apply an update offered to you free of charge or for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation instructions or to have in place the minimum system requirements advised by us.

Use of Personal Information

We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

Prohibited uses of our platform

Users agree not to use Alef Academy for any unlawful purposes. Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to:

  • Redistributing, selling, or licensing content from Alef Academy.
  • Plagiarizing or copying content without appropriate attribution.
  • Uploading or transmitting viruses or malicious code.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our platform or other user accounts.
  • Engaging in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the services provided by Alef Academy.

Content upload

The following provisions apply whenever you use a feature that allows you to upload content to Alef Academy or interact with other users of Alef Academy.

  • Any content you upload to Alef Academy will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. While you retain all ownership rights in your content, you grant us and other users of Alef Academy a limited license to use, store, copy, distribute, and make it available to third parties.
  • We reserve the right to disclose your identity to any third party who claims that any content posted or uploaded by you to Alef Academy constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights or their right to privacy.
  • We have the right to remove any content or posting you make on Alef Academy if, in our opinion, your post does not comply with our content standards.
  • You are solely responsible for securing and backing up your content.

How you may use material on our platform

We are either the owners or licensees of all intellectual property rights in the material published on our platform. These works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world, and all such rights are reserved.

You may print one copy and download extracts of any page(s) from Alef Academy for your personal use, and you may draw the attention of others within your organization to content posted on Alef Academy. However, you must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences, or any graphics separately from any accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on Alef Academy must always be acknowledged.

Users may access and use content on Alef Academy for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. Any other use, including but not limited to commercial purposes, is prohibited unless explicitly authorized by Alef Academy. You must not use any part of the content on Alef Academy for commercial purposes without obtaining a license to do so from us or our licensors.

If you print, copy, or download any part of Alef Academy in breach of these terms of use, your right to use Alef Academy will cease immediately, and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

We reserve the right to remove any content or posting you make on Alef Academy if, in our opinion, it does not comply with our content standards. You are solely responsible for securing and backing up your content. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact us.

User Conduct

You agree to:

  • Use Alef Academy in a manner that is respectful and does not infringe on the rights of others.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account and interacting with the platform.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations while using Alef Academy.

We may suspend or withdraw our platform

Alef Academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate user accounts at its discretion, particularly in cases of suspected misuse or violation of these terms and conditions. In the event of termination, users will lose access to their accounts and any associated content.

We do not guarantee that Alef Academy, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the availability of all or any part of Alef Academy for business and operational reasons. Reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal may be provided at our discretion.

You are responsible for ensuring that all persons who access Alef Academy through your internet connection are aware of these terms of use and other applicable terms and conditions, and that they comply with them.

Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

We provide our services "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the content provided. We will not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use our services.

Rules about linking to our platform

You may link to the Alef Academy home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to Alef Academy on any website that is not owned by you. Alef Academy must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of Alef Academy other than the home page. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice. The website to which you are linking must comply in all respects with our content standards. Our trademarks are registered

The use of our registered trademarks is not permitted without prior written approval from us.

Which country's laws apply to any disputes?

If you are a consumer, please note that these terms of use, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by English law. Both you and we agree that the courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) will have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Users will be notified of any changes, and continued use of Alef Academy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
